JOURNEY
“Humankind, a species that has the power to create the world around them as they see fit. However, can we create anything we want? How powerful are we? What are our limits?”
JOURNEY is an interdisciplinary cross-over performance about "the poetic drama of humankind". It shows us the duality of life and how opposites intertwine and connect, and how this creates our existance. Life and death, day and night, light and heavy. JOURNEY asks questions that make us reflect on ourselves as human beings and "human doings"; What's in the past? How to take control? What's on the other side? How do we relate to the world around and in ourselves?
This performance was created from scratch and rehearsed in 10 weeks by students from no less than 8 associations and directed by Sophie van Grinsven (@triskelioncreativecourses). Students started from their own perspective and field of expertise and worked together to cross over to other artistic disciplines, creating a 40 minute cross-over performance to explore the human existence in all it's diversity.
The disciplines that are covered in this act are: Music, Dance, Theater, Spoken Word, Visual Art, Photography, Chess and Scala-memes
Music Through the Years

"𝗤𝘂𝗶 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁, 𝗯𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁"
"𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹, 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗲"
Long, long ago, in the time when nature🌳 was still in balance, but wars⚔ already ruined a peaceful life, music of course was already all around. It gave an embodiment of people's longins, needs, and heartstrong desires, even as reminders, gestures of gratitude, and wonderful entertainment. Music was there before, and time has only carried it further, a developmental journey over mountains of collective passion, and lakes of personal drive.
Let us take you with us, through the ages.🎼Starting with ancient Gregorian chant, visiting many stops along the road of classical music, 🎻swinging🎷 along with the early and later jazz,🎺🎸 and catching up with more modern music, ending with some up-to-date contemporary electronic vibes. 🎵
Listen.🎶 Absorb like a sponge. And throw it all out again, at the old-time favourite sing-alongs.
